  5. did not need to discuss the experience  
  6. among themselves, for as soon as someone
  7. began a sentence, another finished it,  
  8. and so conversation was without meaning.

  11. at their new bodies, and in surprise    
  12. that they did not feel they were        
  13. different people for all the changes in 
  14. their appearance. When Larin, walking   
  15. down the hall, ran into Thatcher's      
  16. little boy Tithus, he greeted her       
  17. solemnly and without reserve. Did she   
  18. detect a change in his attitude? Surely 
  19. she did, for she was now, like all the  
  20. rest of them, an Ant under the skin, and
  21. could never return to her past.
